Conflicts resolution and management is a unit of competency offered in TVET level 6 Social Work and Community Development course qualification. This unit describes the competencies required to coordinate conflict resolution and management. It involves identifying target group, establishing conflict causes, developing conflict resolution measures, monitoring conflict resolution process, managing community conflicts and documenting conflict resolution and management activities. The significance of conflicts resolution and management to TVET level 6 Social Work and Community Development curriculum is to equip apprentice with knowledge and skills to demonstrate emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, boundary setting, nutrition and food supply and human growth development so as to fit well in workplace. The critical aspect of competency to be covered include; demonstrate ability to mobilize target groups in conflict resolution, develop selection criteria to identify target group, develop assessment tools for both primary and secondary data sources, administer assessment tool, analyse findings, prepare reports, disseminate information, formulate conflict resolution programs, implement conflict resolution programs, develop monitoring tools, review conflict resolution measures and document conflict resolution and management activities. Basic Resources required include a functional office and fully equiped stipulated training office.
